That said, as a Man United fan, I must admit they deserved to lose today. They've been awful throughout the entire group stage and got their comeuppance. They've been awful in the league too, they just get away with it there because most English teams are afraid to attack them. The last time I recall them playing well was against Chelsea on September 18, and even then they gave away far too many chances.

I won't go so far as to say this season will be doom and gloom, but the team looks awful, just crashed out of the Champions League, they lost to Crystal bloody Palace in the League Cup, and they have Manchester City coming up in the FA Cup in January. Add to that Hernandez's injury, and what looks like a very serious injury to Vidic (the only in form defender right now), and the only way United will have a successful season, or more accurately, the only way they won't have an embarrassing season, is if their form improves drastically.
Totally agreed. We just got away with 1-0 result lately and as the whole the team didn't play well at all. I missed those early 4-5 matches where Ando and Cleverly played in the middle. We were so much energy, quick one touch football and lots of chances created.

I can not believe that the opportunity for this to happen with Ajax. They released their opportunities.

I'm not a huge Man U fan but that second Rooney goal today was pretty amazing. They seemed to just turn it on in the first part of the second half.

Manchester United will always show the best when it 's too late.

Boring with the negligence of Fergie.

Madrid show signs of fear Barcelona after they lose goal. And they also miss the opportunity to score several times.

Thanks! for Chelsea. That helps to break City.

Unfortunately with the chance of Adebayor in the injury time, Terry made a good save.

Even though it is an own goal, that is actually one of the best goals ever scored.

Wonder if SAF will retire in the next season if Untd wont win anything.
But he's probably waiting for someone like Guardiola/Mourinho to take the team over...

                        edit:
Nice revenge for the 1:6 (although its still a Cup game), but the red for City was hm... questionable.
Definitely not the last word from both Manchester teams.

It is not possible that he will retire soon, He was a willful and self-confident Sometimes brought bad results to team.

Winning Manchester City. We must acknowledge that United had better luck, them.
