Yes, I was lucky enough to go the Motel installation today and that was the first thing I noticed. As I entered the space the lights were off and the lights from the passing vehicles were making the suit flash. It was quite a sight.

I am certain that this would not serve any protective purpose if your objective was to hide!

I don't see the reflective part as protection, but more about vulnerability being so visible and not being able to control it. I guess it's just a matter of perspective. At least it's not gothninja.

Hate to make it a "where to buy" post, but I've not yet seen the xlight suits/jackets available online anywhere as of yet... would love to see some closeups of the fabric as this is pretty damn awesome. I think it's more devastating as a suit than even as a coat.

The reflective fabric is made of particles of Swarovski glass crystals that have been directly coated/woven in the fabric and not coated on it, hence it has these amazing reflective properties and the flexibility of a more regular fabric.

When the X-fabric is shining it gives the same effect as a negative, where the bright/dark parts are reversed. Fabric and effect should maybe filed as well under be reversibility theme in CCP's work.
