Re: Yes or No? CCP or M.A+ coat... (winter coats)

    thanks for posting faust
my fav is the RO, but is too similiar to the cloak peacoat i got last year. maybe i'll give it another look. I should look at Raf as well (i agree about the contrasting fabic), maybe a trip up to Barney's is in order... i'll also give the V-A a look, although the double coat move can feel a bit much.

Re: Yes or No? CCP or M.A+ coat... (winter coats)
funny, i've had the exact same dilemma for a few months except still waiting for the winter CCP coat to come into A so i can see it in person. (i think its a slightly different coat w really heavy wool)
i loved the MA+ coat but felt that it was cut was way too tight across the chest, and i'm really skinny. i don't think you could get much under there if you tried. so i'm going to go with CCP, but i'm still fuming that my fencing jacket sprung a leak, so maybe i'll look for other winter jackets. anybody have a favorite this season? i haven't seen too many i liked.

I think the CCP coat you're referring to is the same as the one I posted; the wool is extremely heavy on this piece. I tried the 50 in the CCP, and it just looked too big on me, so I may have to opt for the 48 if I decide on that one. I tried the 50 on the M.A+ piece, however, and it did seem so tight that I would not be able to layer. Then I tried the 52, and it didn't appear to be too big in the shoulders or chest, so it would be perfect for layering.

Funny you should say this - I thought this was a great season for coats.

        My faves.

The RO peacoat that Cas mentioned for the reasons he stated.

        Undercover coat with wire collar.
That Rick coat was one of my top choices when A first put that up. But am personally looking for a slightly longer piece. Also loved that Undercover coat, but am afraid it will only work as a fall piece and be too thin for the New England winter. Plus, the velcro feature on the wrists tends to pull on the wool that is between the velcro pads in that area of the coat.

You're right though. This season is a great one for outerwear.
not a fan of the pockets on the ma+ coat. ccp coat is ok... probably too expensive.
I can see what you mean in regards to the pockets. It would've been more functional for Maurizio to have the pockets at a more diagonal angle. Plus, I won't be paying full retail for either piece... so it's all good. [H]

Re: Yes or No? CCP or M.A+ coat...

did the CCP coat have a tail that you can fold up into the coat?
i moved up a size in the MA+ for added room in the chest too, but the cut was lost on me. i think its reallly just a breezy fall coat meant to be worn w a shirt underneath. cut out the middle.

Keep or Don't Keep? Ann Demeulemeester Jacket...

I have a sense that is a slight bit baggy or maybe the sleeves need to come up a fraction...

The sleeves are too long if you want to follow "the rules" but I like overlong coat sleeves so I'd personally keep them like that. The coat isn't ultra-tight but everything ultra-tight all the time is boring and not very Ann Demeulemeester either. I'd keep it

Your posture seems somewhat awkward, as if you're overly conscious of the long sleeves and are trying to compensate by straightening/stiffening your arms.

I could be wrong. But if this is the case, then you should return the jacket. No sense in keeping something you're not comfortable wearing.

Unrelated to your query, but I don't think the boot-tuck is working.

Or he can simply cuff them up. I believe those are working buttons, and a little bit of exposed lining is right up Ann's alley. That's what I do with my Ann coat.

Thanks for the feedback... I guess I am used to wearing fitted suits to work on the daily and the length and width of the arms just threw me off a little... It felt peculiar when I first wore it but from a 3rd person perspective (pics) it does not seem oversized at all...

                                Thanks!
