cross-posting jgan's post from small questions thread:

i was liking it when it was 5 free auction-style listings per month, with $20 final value fee cap. a $50 fee cap is quite a bit heftier...although apparently you don't have to pay the insertion fee unless your item sells

one way around the heavier final value fee is what eBayers have been doing for years:

            1. someone makes you an offer
            2. you make them a "private listing" at $1
            3. end the listing early when they bid
            4. adjust the shipping price accordingly to match the agreed sale price

the FVF is calculated based upon the sub-total which does not include shipping, so your fee will be for a $1 listing

also, lol @ ridiculous Anchor membership fee:

So they take 9% of whatever you make from the sale then on anything over $.01 cents, yeah?

yeah, that's the new fee. it's not much of a change if you either sold more than 5 items / month (there has been 5 free listings per month for a while), or you consistently sell low-priced items

the only thing is that if you sell high priced items (>$250?), your FVF is no longer capped at $20, and can go up to $50 (which is anything >$555)

                  That's before Paypal fees, right?

/\ Unfortunately yes. When it comes to selling expensive things on ebay I tend to stay away. I've got a guitar that I've wanted to sell for over a year now but I can't bring myself to have such a chunk taken from the money. Obviously I don't judge ebay in anyway, theyre a business and they need to make money some way. I do think however regular sellers could be given some reduced paypal fee rate though considering ebay own both and its almost guarenteed that people will pay via paypal nowadays.

regular sellers do get reduced fees

but their definition of regular is quite different lol. they base it on monthly sales volume, and it's quite extreme

Ahh I was unaware. Even so, I cant imagine many people falling into any of the two lowest rate ones.

Front window display, Calvin Klein store on Madison Avenue, NYC.

Super-imposed onto glass, the glistening ass of a nude man faces traffic, implying that whatever else may be glistening is facing inside the store. And to receive all that glistens, a well-suited male mannequin on bended knees–hands grasping his ankles–is positioned front & center to um, well, "get what he came for".

You really have to be in front of the window to appreciate this experience, friends.

Living in NYC, I've seen plenty of provocative displays, but nothing quite so "in your face", pardon the expression.. LOLing
