I have two boots with zippers in the back. Super convenient but I would suggest to walk in them a good 5-10 minutes and also uphill before purchasing. You wanna make sure the back zipper doesn't chafe with your ankle, especially if they have high-boots, because the flexibility of your lower leg will be limited.

Ann's 42.5 = most people's 43.5. Those slouchy boots are damn nice - I honestly wish you would like them, lol! Drexl, do you still have a picture of them?

DjRajio, thanks for the advice. I suspected as much, hence my initial question. Unfortunately the CDiem pair I was eyeing is sold out in Barneys... along with the Ann Dem cropped pants, so there goes my birthday wishlist...

Sure do, if you don't mind the poor picture. The first pic are mine, that season the buckles were done in black, and the other pic is from spring 2003. The leather is just to die for (goat suede as I was told by the seller at Mona Moore). Oh BTW, a 42.5 in these boots feels more like a 43.

Thanks, drexl. So the pair they have left is black buckles or silver?

Thank you for the pics and sizing info drexl. They look really cool. Leather looks very nice and soft too.

However I think they are too high for my taste. I am looking for more conservative style....short boots/ankle boots maybe. So I can wear to work and get more mileages out of them.

I saw those at Mona Moore, def fit very big and quite slouchy, the leather is so soft it feels like paradise.

                            Re: Men's Footwear

i've looking into picking up a pair of distressed side-lace boots with a slim profile, preferably in the white/cream color range. i remember seeing a particular pair i liked in cloak's f/w '04 photos but have had very little luck since. gianni barbato makes a current model that might fill the criteria, has anyone had any personal experiences or opinion on barbato shoes? other suggestions are most welcome :)

ok, a few quick questions regarding cdiem and guidi boots.

how's the fit for both (do they run small, large, or true)? and which, overall, do you prefer?

                              (if it matters, i'm generally a 43.5-44)

i'm considering getting a pair of one or the other and, as i'm nowhere near anyplace that has a a pair i can try on, i figured i'd ask those that own them already.

any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I've been obsessed with the Cloak felt/leather boots. There's a good picture of them in the mag Menswear that came out a couple months ago. Only problem is they're around $675! I'm crossing my fingers that I can get them when sales start. What do you guys think? Anyone see them in store?

BTW, anyone have any idea why Cloak footwear is so expensive? Are they partially handmade, or is it just the limited production?
