I remember someone telling me that "cuban heels" is what they're called everywhere but in Cuba... There they're called "new york heels" or something like that... I forget. Anyone know?
I'm glad they're becoming more popular and more accepted. I was finally able to end my 10+ year long search for a decent pair when I bought the KKA ones from a few seasons back. Before that I had considered the SLP ones as well, but for the longest time the only cuban heels that existed were more costumey ones and not of great quality.Comment

They really ARE hard to put on. I was so embarrassed when I went to try them on for the first time, I could barely get them on -- I have pretty slim calves and often find that boots are too baggy/wide for my legs, so I never in my wildest dreams expected to struggle getting these thin and flexible boots on. Actually the thin leather probably made it worse, I felt like I was going to put a thumb right through the textile as I was struggling to get my foot into the shoe. My girlfriend bought a pair and the SA showed us a trick: you simply put your foot in a plastic bag first.
