    Re: import/export

    since i'm pretty excited about it i was just going to mention that William Klein's films will finally be released in US format next tuesday. As always, thanks again Criterion: http://www.criterion.com/asp/boxed_set.asp?id=2000900</P>

    although i haven't actually seen the movie and can't give a review, Who Are You, Polly Maggoo?seems like essential viewing for anyone with a passing interest in 60's fashion and french humor.</P>

                    didn't know you play. actually thought you were in a band when i first met you though. i've seen less than zero only once when it first came out and i remember that very night i tried coke for the first time.

                        I would add Fire Walk with Me to that list. (You should check twin peaks first, mmmh, maybe not)

                        Fire Walk with Me is by far my favorite of Lynch's films with Blue Velvet and Inland Empire tied for second. This is the only movie I've ever seen that truly scared me (which it continues to do) and I grew up on horror films. </p>

                          Twin Peaks is, while occasionally inconsistent, generally a pretty good series in my opinion. One of the better television series I can think of.</p>

                              inland empire is a trip too. i saw the premiere a few years ago in new york film festival.</p>

                              lynch and laura dern, who was fucking amazing in this, were both there and watched the film from the box seats.
                              </p>

                              during one scene, an abused dern watches the film of herself acting (that was shot in the beginning of the film) from the right hand box of the theatre in the film which was exactly where she was sitting in the theatre w lynch....it was sort of where the beer needs porn thread is at right now. anyway. it was mindblowing.

                                I also loved Dern in Wild At Heart(1990), but then again the whole

                                film was of magnitude ...

                                </p>

                                And one should definitely not deny him/herself the pleasure of

                                The Elephant Man(1980) and The Straight Story(1999) even though

                                they are slightly different from the Lynch we are use to.</p>

                                For the Coen Brothers, for me, Millers Crossing(1990) and Barton Fink(1991)

                                are preferable to their latter work ...</p>[51]
