anyone knows about Londons sales? since im leaving london in the middle of december it kind of collide with the sales.

most intrested of broadwick59, vertice, liberty and the bigger department stores.

Faust, thank you! I'm definitely gonna have to check out that knit, I'm just hoping this Barneys still has it. I loved the faded knits on the runway!

Not certain about broadwick59, but the others definitely won't start the sale until 26th December or later, everywhere is basically the same in London - sales start some time between Christmas and New Year. DSM is the one place I know of where assistants sometimes let you take things for sale price a week or so before they are officially marked down (nothing ever goes below 40% off there though).

You can usually get a discount from DSM about mid-December. The CDG sale used to start around the 15th, but this doesn't officially happen at DSM for some reason.

It's a bit unscrupulous I think. Presumably if you don't know to ask you pay full-price.

i don't get it. so i just talked to someone in men's designer at barneys in madison and he said that presale doesn't start until closer to the end of the month. is he just holding people off on the presale so their clients get first crack?

Joey- That's weird. I know a few people have been saying they are at pre sale right now....Is there some kind of special list you need to be on to be a part of it?

As far as I know, the presale has NOT officially started...a few sales assistants have been willing to try and hold on to things for clients until it does...

However, there is a week long "private sale" starting tomorrow, and this IS official (I got a card in the mail). Try mentioning this when you call (or when you go in).

thanks laika. i haven't received the card since i moved to nyc, but i think mentioning the mailer might make them more forthcoming with info. i'll give them a ring again later in the day.
