orb, totally, im looking forward to seeing some fit pics too
in the meantime, here's an additional pic
    IMG_0980
im guessing the construction varies with leather type.
the one showing above is made of horse leather and has that creasing even when unworn [which is different from the one darklands has, which is made of calf]
i think the one with the creasing would fit very differently from the ccp seamless boots, not sure about the calf iteration tho

I'm pretty sure they are 2 different boots w/ the same diagonal zip design.

The AW13 release (Darklands & The Library) has a more lifted and round-ish toebox while the SS14 release has a flatter less rounded toe box.

ss14 toe box is much better imo, other one is a bit too bulbous for me but some folks like that

yes. different toebox can match your different outfits. to me the stranger toebox (fw13) works well with heavy pants / jeans which it's suitable for fall/winter.

Has anyone here ever had a pair of A1923 trainers/sneakers resoled? Thinking about the stitching: looks like an issue. At the stage now where I could vibram if needed but somehow don't particularly want to.

Fantastic, thanks. Is there any chance I could trouble you for a photo showing the entire sole so I can show potential cobblers?

I just love the phrase "potential cobblers".

The cobbler need to apply a thin sole. It couldn't be easier.

That looks like really good, durable work on the part of your cobbler, but if I understand correctly it resembles a fairly typical vibram situation of reinforcing the original sole, rather than resoling (removing the old and adding a completely new one). Is that correct?

you are gambling if you think you will find a cobbler to resole these shoes.

I have no idea why you wouldn't want to vibram the soles - you literally can't tell the difference. Add a heal tap and the shoes should be fine for a long time.

Also, putting a vibram on a flat sole couldn't be easier. light sand, adhesive cut off the extra...

Very simple. As gavagai said. Don't touch the original sole. Just add vibram on top.
These are Augusta black sneaks with black soles, hence the black vibram.

you can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter...
